A Virtual Private Server (VPS) is not mandatory, but highly advisable to ensure that your algorithms are running around the clock and without interruption. A VPS is a computer that’s always on.
Since automated trading systems also operate around the clock, we recommend installing and running them on the VPS. It’s in a professional server room, unlike our home computer. These computers work day and night, regardless of local conditions.

You can set up your VPS on a MacOS/IOS or Windows machine. We provide instructions for both systems.
Before setting up your VPS, choose a provider. The right provider will ensure your trading platform runs smoothly with minimal latency and maximum uptime. We recommend IONOS as a VPS provider with good conditions and customer support. The smallest package is sufficient for one or a few Metatrader instances.
MacOS & IOS
Windows
To access your VPS on MacOS or IOS, you’ll need a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) client. We recommend using the “Windows App”, which is available for free on the Apple App Store.
After installing the Windows App, add your VPS server. Click the plus in the top bar and choose Add PC.
Next, just enter the info. Your PC name is your VPS server IP address—you can get this from your provider. The username is usually “Admin,” but check with your VPS provider to be sure.
Once you’re done, just click Add and you’re all set to get started with your VPS.
Windows comes with a built-in Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) tool that allows you to connect to your VPS easily.
